Conversation between me and a mom accompanied by her adorable, round-headed, approximately 18 month old son. This started because I kept smiling at the baby because the mom had him in an area I was working in for a few minutes. I got a vibe from her that I was mildly freaking her out because […]

Owen’s school is having a Scholastic Book Fair for the next few days. We bought some books there this afternoon after school.

UNDERGROUND
Under water grottos, caverns
Filled with apes
That eat figs.
Stepping on the figs
That the apes
Eat, they crunch.
The apes howl, bare
Their fangs, dance,
Tumble in the
Rushing water,
Musty, wet pelts
Glistening in the blue.
– Barack Obama, 1981
